Family Background
I, Sukraj Pawar, have a family of six members, including my parents, wife, and two children. Due to the lack of agricultural land, my family used to migrate to other villages for farming work. I completed my education up to the 12th grade, but due to poor financial conditions, I couldn’t pursue further studies.
Later, I started working at a welding shop in Dhule to support my family. I used to earn ₹6,000 to ₹7,000 per month from this job, while my parents earned a similar amount through agricultural labor, making our total monthly household income around ₹13,000 to ₹14,000. This was how we managed our livelihood.
Previous Occupation/Business
Before availing the benefit, I used to work at another person’s welding shop in Dhule. Additionally, I worked in others’ farms in the village to earn extra income.
Income Before Availing the Benefit
I earned ₹6,000 to ₹7,000 per month from the welding shop, but my income was inconsistent as it depended on the availability of work.

I had welding skills, but I lacked sufficient capital to start my own business.
Information About the Benefit
Since 2021, the TDF NABARD program has been running in our village. Under this program, a self-help group (SHG) was formed in the village, which holds meetings every month. During one such meeting, I proposed my idea of starting a welding workshop and submitted a loan application to the group.
The self-help group deposited ₹30,000 as their contribution, and an additional ₹30,000 was provided as a subsidy by NABARD, making a total of ₹60,000. This amount was used to purchase necessary equipment and machinery for the welding business.
Income Since Starting the Business
I started my welding workshop in the first week of April 2024. In the past six months, I have earned ₹45,000 by manufacturing agricultural equipment, bullock carts, and grain storage containers. My work is ongoing, and the business is gradually growing.
Personal Reflection
Now, I am getting good work in my village as well as in nearby villages. Additionally, I plan to establish a bigger welding shop in the future. Because of this, my family and I are living a stable and happy life. I sincerely express my gratitude to the Sanjeevani organization for their guidance and to NABARD for their immense support.
