Introduction
In April 2016 Sanjeevani institute for empowerment and development (SIED) has started work in Kalamb and Ralegaon tahasil of Yavatmal district with the finance of HDFC bank. the project has been started under the title of “Participatory Natural Resource Management Project in 11 villages of Ralegaon and Kalamb Block Dist Yavatmal” from this project we run different developmental activities in project areas. Area Treatment work is one of the best activities to reduce soil erosion and control from water logging condition which helps to save farmer’s from crop failure.
Family Information
Mr. Krishna Tulsiram Nil from Baradgaon Ralegaon block Dist-Yavatmal. He is a farmer having 10 acre of land holding there are six members in his family, his father Tulsiram D. Nil age 64 years, mother Kantabai Nil age 59 years, wife Vaishali age 35 years studied up to 10th standard and two daughters Minal and Ruchita both are students studied in 10th and 2nd standard respectively his all family members are busy in farming except Minal and Ruchita their family is totally dependent on agriculture. He is doing farming from last 20 years and cultivating different crops in his 10 acre of land from that land he generate income by doing farming and fulfill the needs of his family.
Past Condition of farmer
Mr. Krishna Nil has 10 acre of land near canal, maximum area of his land is under well fertile black cotton soil but his farm has lope to the east because of slope in rainy day’s soil erosion is takes place and tons of fertile soil loss done every year due to soil erosion it results to decline in soil fertility and it makes direct impact on crop production hence total production is reduced which reduce total farm income.
Water logging also big problem occurs in his farm because of sloppy land water stagnation is done in lower areas crop failure is done because of water logging condition. Because of water logging crops are affected by die back disease which makes big loss him and annual farm income is not satisfying in compare to his and his families heard work.
Review of farmer about Demonstration
My name is Krishna Tusiram Nil from village Baradgaon my occupation is farming having 10 acre of irrigated land near canal but some part of my farm is sloppy and because of sharp slope every year tons fertile soil loss takes place and my fertile land get unfertile year after year because of soil erosion. In rainy season water logging condition is occurs because of water stagnation is done in lower areas where water logging take place and crop failure is done due to Die back which creates big loss near about 2 acres of plot losses due waterlog condition and soil erosion. But because of area treatment work soil erosion is stop and water logging is reduced due to water ways now both problems of soil erosion and water logging is in control because of area treatment work my production is increased from last year, this year water log area is reduced as compare to last year also soil erosion done in very less quantity this all thing is done because of Sanjeevani Institute and HDFC bank under integrated watershed development program Sanjeevni Institute doing good work of area treatment.
