BACKGROUND
Fulabai Gaikwad is residing in Torankudi village of our Sakri Project Cluster. From 2019 Lakhpati Kisan programme was initiated in this village. Through Lakhpati Kisan programme a new project supported by Societe Generale bank was started with agreed principles of L.K. Project. Village Organization is at the driver’s seat during this project implementation and they generate demand for various planned activities under these program.
As per project schedule we have to establish a hi- tech nursery in Amali cluster for promotion of high value agriculture and ensure quality saplings with minimum rates to farmer. VO discussed in their meeting and Fulabai Kantilal Gaikwad get ready for implementing this activity.
BENEFICIARY INFORMATION
Fulabai is residing in Torankudi village, having total 4 members in her family. She has total 3.5 acre of land but entire land was rain fed. So she takes only crops in Kharif season and then migrates towards Malegaon & Pimpalgaon in Onion market for wages.
INITIATIVE
Earlier from programme she is a user group member of Lift irrigation activity from same project. Now she available irrigation water in their field and started to cultivate Wheat and bean vegetables on 1.25 acre along with regular Kharif cropping practices. She added Soyabean crop in Kharif season for getting more income. Seed was available by FPC.
By analyzing total income before and after it was found that her income from agriculture is increased up to Rs. 192000.00 as compared to Rs. 30600.00. Net increase in income is Rs. 161400.00
Meanwhile a Poly house nursery which was recommended by VO was installed in her field. Regular trainings were conducted. Project team supports for advertising in entire project cluster. Demand generation was done by adjoining village VOs and she starts to get demand right from beginning.
