Case Study- Community RO Plant at Rao Rajur, Tal-Palam, Dist-Parbhani

       Rao Rajur is a frequently drought affected village from Palam block of Parbhani District. It is facing a problem of water scarcity for clean and potable drinking, domestic water requirements irrigation water all the time. It has been included in the HDFC Bank supported developmental project since November, 2015. Water scarcity has been at the center of the developmental initiatives.
The drinking water issue was also the crucial one for the village. Considering the water shortage and the poor quality of the drinking water in general and in the summer in particular, the HDFC Bank in consultation with the villagers, decided to undertake the community RO plant at the Rao Rajur village. The water was salty and there were problems of throat diseases and the water borne diseases. With the help of Water life, Hyderabad, and Garmpanchayt Rao Rajur this plant has been initiated and the same has been inaugurated very recently.

         The inauguration took place at the hands of Sub-divisional Magistarte, in presence of the Waterlife MD, Sarpanch of the Rao Rajur, BM of the HDFC Bank Gangakhed, SIED Staff, and other villagers from the Rao Rajur village.
Now after the formal inauguration, the plant has started delivering the clean water to the villagers. Under this scheme, a total of 105 families (600) have asked for getting the water jar supply. The water is supplied at Rs.7/- for 20 lit of water which is very cheap as compared to the other commercial suppliers
